It’s hard when you have
unrequited feelings for a friend.
Maybe you’re like Chloe, who loves someone she’s only friends with in secret. She loves the attention she gets from her crush Mordecai, but she wants more.
Even so, the mixed signals he gives her make it hard for her to know where she stands with him. And it’s painful for her to crush on him knowing he knows how she feels but hasn’t said how he feels about her.
Or maybe you’re like Simon, who’s in love with Chloe, a good friend he associates with in public. He knows Chloe is in love with someone else, and he knows the person she loves doesn’t treat her well. It’s painful for him to watch her pine for someone like that. And it makes it that much harder for him to confess his feelings to her.
Whether you’ve experienced unrequited love for a friend or just unrequited love in general, you might be able to relate to what these characters are going through. You might be able to relate to some of the highs and lows they experience and some of the struggles they face.
How would you like to go on the emotional roller coaster ride with them as they navigate this complicated high school love triangle?
Introducing “What Happens After You Confess Your Feelings to Someone?”
“What Happens After You Confess Your Feelings to Someone?” is a story about the highs and lows of high school love. At the beginning, you’ll find yourself in 2005—a time when cellphones were still fairly new on the scene and when social media wasn’t such a big thing.
In this story, Chloe is a studious high school sophomore who finds herself with a big crush on a junior named Mordecai. He claims he would date her if she were allowed to date, but his actions say otherwise. He’s constantly going out with other girls and constantly breaking Chloe’s heart with his seeming indifference to her feelings.
But Mordecai has a secret—several, actually—secrets he can only tell Chloe. They’re secrets he carries with him from his troubled past. And she’s often the first one he turns to when he needs help.
At the same time, Chloe has a good friend named Simon. He’s a new sophomore at her school, and his love for Chloe is obvious from the start. Simon is the antithesis of Mordecai—generous, reliable, and parent-approved. But Simon’s nice guy ways are lost on Chloe. And it doesn’t help that he struggles to confess his feelings to her.
Senior year is fast approaching, after all—the year Chloe’s parents will finally allow her to date. If she holds on a little longer, Mordecai might seriously consider going out with her. Or will Simon find a way to win her heart in the end?
Who will Chloe choose?

About the Membership
“What Happens After You Confess Your Feelings to Someone?” isn’t a typical young adult romance. In the membership, the story will be told as a series of blog posts, with one chapter per post. This means you’ll be able to comment on individual chapters and enjoy a sense of community with other members as you read the story together.
In addition, every month I’ll be uploading a new piece of content to accompany the story itself. One month it could be a deleted scene. Another month it could be a scene told from another character’s POV (point of view). And another month it could be a poem or two inspired by the story.
I would like you to think of this membership not just as a place to read a new YA romance, but as an oasis in the online world. It’s a place you can take a deep breath away from the noise of social media and the craziness that comes with it.
In this space, you can grab your favorite warm beverage and dive into the story as you interact with other members who have all gathered to enjoy a fresh teen romance, complicated though it may be.
There’s no instant connection between lovers. No steamy love scenes. Just complicated emotions, intense studies, and teen drama that takes place in the not-too-distant past.
As you can see, the After You Confess Membership is much more than just a membership. It’s an experience. And it’s one you don’t want to miss.
