About Spiritual Coaching

If you currently see yourself as a Christian, does any of the following apply to you?

  • You’re finding it hard to hold onto your Christian beliefs.

  • You’ve been through something that has led you to question or re-evaluate some or all of your beliefs.

  • You don’t feel that Christianity is allowing you to express yourself freely or authentically.

  • You don’t feel that Christianity is serving you anymore.

  • You would like to shift from religion to spirituality but you’re finding that deeply held religious beliefs are making that hard, leading to questions like, “What about being saved?” or “What about the afterlife?”

If any of this resonates, let me reassure you. Despite what some may say, it’s totally fine to question or re-evaluate your Christian or religious beliefs. And it’s totally fine to let go of beliefs that are no longer serving you.

It’s important that the spirituality you’re practicing feels authentic to you. Your spiritual beliefs should help you be the best possible version of yourself, connected to both your true self and your Higher Power. If you find that your beliefs aren’t allowing you to do that, you should definitely consider modifying them or letting them go.

As someone who used to be a deeply religious Christian and now considers herself spiritual not religious, I know from firsthand experience that religious beliefs can be especially hard to release. But if you really feel that Christianity isn’t serving you or allowing you to be authentic or feel free, you might be ready to transition from Christianity to spirituality. And spiritual coaching can help with that transition.

My Story

In 2017, I went through the roughest spiritual crisis of my life. Before then, I was very religious and had felt solid in my spiritual beliefs. But after entering and then quickly leaving an extremely conservative church, my spiritual world was turned upside down.

It required extraordinary effort on my part to find my spiritual bearings again. And even though I still consider myself to be on a spiritual journey, I was able to pull myself out of the worst of that crisis.

I now understand that what happened then was I went through a spiritual awakening. I consider it to have been a rude awakening, though, because I was very unprepared for it. But what it ultimately did was help me start practicing a form of spirituality that’s more authentic to me. And it led me to shift from being religious to being spiritual.

For me, this essentially means that I still believe in a Higher Power, but I no longer perform religious rituals or feel like they’re necessary to please or appease that Power. I feel like just being me is enough.

How Can Spiritual Coaching Help You?

If you’ve been through something that shattered your worldview or the way you were taught to understand Christianity, Christian texts, or your relationship to God, you might be dealing with a spiritual or identity crisis—or both. But, again, if this is leading you to believe that you would like to be spiritual instead of religious, I know how difficult the transition can be—especially if your beliefs run deep or if religion is strongly tied to your identity.

Spiritual coaching can help you sort through the spiritual questions you’re now wrestling with and navigate any changes you need to make as you uncover your authentic spirituality. It can also provide you with an objective perspective on your situation. Since spirituality tends to be so closely tied to who we are, it can be hard for us to view our situation objectively, which can make it hard to find a way forward. But a spiritual coach can provide an objective perspective so that a way forward becomes clearer.

My Method

I’m not the kind of spiritual coach who will encourage you to perform unfamiliar rituals or anything like that. My method is much simpler. As I learn more about what you’re going through, I’ll encourage you to do introspection through journaling and related exercises. And based on what you discover, I’ll give you actionable steps you can take to start making progress on your spiritual journey. If you like, I can also use knowledge about your personality type to tailor your sessions or package to your type.

More specifically, as your spiritual coach, I will…

  • Help you identify which beliefs you want to keep, modify, adopt, or let go of so you can begin practicing a form of spirituality that feels authentic to you (a process called “deconstruction”),

  • Help you gain clarity on your true values so you can establish an identity outside of religion,

  • Offer strategies for releasing harmful religious beliefs so they no longer have as much control over you,

  • Be a nonjudgmental sounding board for new ideas you’re playing with when it comes to spirituality, and

  • Provide journal prompts and other resources as needed to help you move forward on your spiritual journey.

And just so you know, my job as your coach is not to change your spiritual beliefs or steer you toward any particular ones. I have a nonjudgmental approach to spiritual coaching.

My job is to listen to what you have to share and then help you determine the best course of action for you. Any advice I give will be based on what you’ve uncovered through the introspection I’ll encourage you to do and our coaching sessions.

My Coaching Services

I’m currently offering both individual 50-minute Spiritual Coaching sessions and a three-month (90-day) Spiritual Coaching package. The sessions are for people who would just like some guidance or the occasional sounding board as they uncover their authentic spirituality. The package is for people who would like more structure, support, and accountability as they do this work.

Here’s what the package will include:

  • One 50-minute Spiritual Coaching session every week through Google Meet

  • Assignments following every session

  • Weekly check-in emails/messages to see how you’re doing

  • Unlimited messaging through Google Chat*

  • Email support*

In addition, after learning more about your situation, I will customize the package for your needs. So, if I find that value clarification is presenting a particular struggle for you, we can spend more time on that. Or if you’re finding it especially challenging to release harmful religious beliefs, we can focus more on that.

Here’s the current price for an individual session:

  • $75 USD for a 50-minute session

Here are the current prices for the package:

  • $997 USD for three (3) months if paid all at once

  • $357 USD per month for three (3) months if paid one month at a time

(Each “month” of the coaching package corresponds to a 30-day period, the first day of the first period beginning the day of your first paid session.)

If this sounds like something you’re interested in, please complete the form below to get started. After I receive your application, I’ll respond to let you know whether I think we’re a good fit. If I think we are, we can schedule a free 30-minute session through Google Meet.

During this session, I’ll help you uncover one of your biggest hurdles to transitioning from religion to spirituality and give you an action item you can use to start overcoming it. If you enjoy the session and would like to move forward, I’ll help you decide which of my coaching services is best suited to your needs.
